You are bidding on a beautiful vintage art deco 8 day mantel clock, made by the quality German company Haller, circa. 1930/40s
In very nice condition it has the westminster chimes which strike on the quarter, half, three quarter & full hour, it also has the option to silence the chimes & strike if you desire.
This has a very unusual pendulum which at first I thought was made of stone is made of heavy alloy with etchings on it, and is a genuine part of the clock.
It keeps very good time, the face is very nice only a few small wear marks which are minimal considering its 80 odd years old! The clock could do with a little bit of a wipe down but is in good overall order.
The original key is present. the movement is clean & the oak case has a very nice sheen to it. Measurements are 31cm wide, 21cm high, 15cm depth.
You are bidding on a small, extremely nice antique tortoise shell trinket box, beautifully decorated with ox bone panels, unfortunatly some damage, so for restoration, carved claw feet ( two missing ) 2″ high, 2″ wide and 4″ long.
Please study photographs as they form part of the description and can say more about the item than I can.
Any questions please ask.
Hallmarked Silver Cigarette Case
Makers mark shows JGL which I believe may be J Gloster Ltd. Made in Birmingham, stamped with a lion to denote Sterling and the date mark is a V. (1920 or 1945?)
This was sold to me as a 1945 post war cigarette case, however there is no longer the bands which hold the cigarettes.
The case weighs 59.7gms of silver. The case is in good condition and would make a great present. Please see pictures.
